My background and experience
I’m not a big talker. Instead, I prefer to see my words on paper (or screen). I tell the stories that help your audience understand what you are trying to say. That might be describing how your business has made progress against your sustainability goals through annual reporting or persuading your hospital trust’s workforce to embrace a new strategy.
Finding the right words and capturing the right tone of voice are my special skills.
As well as copywriting, I'm an experienced strategic communicator, developing and delivering communications strategy for clients to enhance their reputations and promote their issues. I’ve worked with clients of all sizes, from global corporations to public sector organisations, charities and start-ups.
What qualifies me?
Ever since Mrs Williams, my year six primary school teacher, kept me in at playtime to make me write a list of alternatives to the word “nice”, I’ve been challenging myself to find the right words.
Professionally, I studied for the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) Diploma and I've trained over 2,000 Environment Agency employees in how to use Plain English. I have a phenomenal success rate in getting client award entries shortlisted and my strategies have proven time and again to be effective.
